Your Mac runs on an OS or Operating System. Generally, Apple creates a new OS every year and has periodic updates a few times in between. These new systems have new features, improvements, bug-fixes, and expand our computer experience. Updating your OS can be confusing and clients ask us if they are always necessary.
It’s important to regularly check for and install software updates on your Mac. New features may make a huge difference in your daily workflow and increase productivity. Improvements in power efficiency, or fixing problematic software bugs are also reasons to upgrade. But alongside the operating system, it’s also important to update the apps on your Mac to ensure everything is working as it should be.
